Sindh police suspends 37 more cops on extortion charges

KARACHI: Sindh police action continues against black sheep within its department as a result of which 37 more officers and other cops were suspended on Wednesday, Geo News reported.
According to police sources, the action was taken against the above policemen for their alleged involvement in collection of extortion besides providing patronage to the criminals.
SSP East Pir Muhammad Shah said 37 officers and other police personnel were suspended from East District today.
Similarly, a disciplinary action has also been initiated against 6 policemen in Baldia Town. According to SP Baldia Town, an inquiry has been started against them. He said a total of 129 policemen have so far been suspended in the ongoing action that began Tuesday.
